When you contact ACOA, you will find knowledgeable and courteous staff, who you can expect to adhere to the following service standards:
- Our staff is available to speak to you from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Atlantic Time), every Government business day;
- Our automated services are available for your use 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
- We provide toll-free phone (1-800-561-7862) and teletypewriter (TTY1-877-456-6500) service from all regions of Atlantic Canada;
- When appropriate, we will provide you with contact information for the organization that can best assist you.
- We strive to provide information in the mode of your choice (in person, by fax, mail or e-mail).
- We provide service in the official language of your choice at most ACOA offices in the Atlantic region.
Program-Specific Service Standards
ACOA has implemented service standards for the Agency’s three major funding programs, the Business Development Program (BDP), Innovative Communities Fund (ICF), and the Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF).
Service standards for the Business Development Program and the Innovative Communities Fund:
- ACOA’s goal is to send an acknowledgment letter to the client, within ten (10) business days of receiving a signed and completed application, which will provide the name and contact information of the account manager or of an ACOA official who can provide any follow-up information or guidance.
Service standards for the Atlantic Innovation Fund:
- Letters of Intent:
ACOA’s goal is to send an acknowledgment letter to the client, within ten (10) business days of the published deadline for receiving letters of intent, which will provide a project number to be used when submitting a project proposal.
- Project Proposals:
ACOA’s goal is to send an acknowledgment letter to the client, within ten (10) business days of the published deadline for receiving project proposals, which will provide the name and contact information of the account manager or of an ACOA official who can provide any follow-up information or guidance.
